BLUE BELL PA — A television studio on the Central campus of Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell PA became a temporary set recently for several segments of “Comcast Local Edition,” a news and information program produced by Comcast Corp. for broadcast on its cable channels.

Three MCCC students – Timothy Dippolito, Kyle Pasquino and Nicholas Yanoshak – partnered with a Comcast crew to record five-minute interview segments that are part of a CNN Headline News 30-minute rotation that airs daily at 24 and 54 minutes past the hour. They were chosen from a production class taught by Allan Schear, instructor and coordinator of the college’s communication program.

Comcast Local Edition features state and local leaders, business professionals and representatives of non-profit organizations. Comcast was pleased with the college’s equipment and caliber of its students, Schear said. Comcast plans to produce future segments with the college quarterly.

Schear is a national Emmy award-winning producer with more than 30 years of television news and production experience. He was a former news manager at Fox Broadcasting and a news producer with NBC news and sports.
