BLUE BELL PA — Community College Week, an independent magazine distributed to community, technical and junior colleges, has ranked Montgomery County Community College among its 2010 “Top 50 Associate Degree Producers” nationwide in two subject areas.

In Education, the college ranked 40th for the number of degrees conferred, an increase of 14 positions from last year’s rank of 54. Education degrees offered by the college include Associate of Arts programs in Education in the Early Years: Birth through Fourth Grade and Secondary Education, and an Associate of Applied Science  program in Paraprofessional Education. The college also offers a 30-credit childcare certificate program, and a three-course core director’s credential certificate for center directors.

In Communication, Journalism and Related Programs, the college is ranked 24th for the number of degrees conferred. Degrees offered by the college include an Associate of Arts program in Communications, which has options in film studies and media studies, and Associate in Applied Science programs in Digital Broadcasting, Digital Audio Production, Digital Design: Multi-Media, and Digital Design: Computer Graphics.

The results were published in the magazine’s June 14 edition.
