Get certified, or re-certified, for food handling in Montgomery County.

COLLEGEVILLE PA – The National Restaurant Association’s Safe Food Handler certification course will be offered Aug. 17 and 18 (2010; Tuesday and Wednesday) by Montgomery County (PA) Cooperative Extension in the 4-H Center, Route 113, Collegeville PA. The course is state Health Department-approved for food safety and sanitation, and is required for all Montgomery County food service establishments.

An accompanying re-certification course, also scheduled by Cooperative Extension – for Aug. 24 (2010; Tuesday) – is a review and update of food safety principles covered in the initial certification course.  Current Montgomery County-certified food safety and sanitation managers must complete a re-certification course every three years.

Certification books are offered in a wide variety of languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and French Canadian.
