AUDUBON PA – An award recognizing excellence in training, safety and communication will be presented Sept. 13 (2010) to Montgomery County trash hauler J.P. Mascaro and Sons, headquartered at 2650 Audubon Rd., Audubon PA, by the Pennsylvania Self-Insurers’ Association, its board of managers has announced.

The awards ceremony is part of the association’s two-day, 88th annual meeting, being held in Mount Pocono PA. Mascaro provides garbage collection and other environmental services to residents of Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township and other municipalities in the Greater Pottstown PA area.

The association award specifically commends Mascaro’s development of its “New Hire Safety and Compliance Manual,” which the group’s board said represents “a collaboration (of Mascaro’s) risk management, operations, communications, safety and environmental compliance departments.” It outlines safe practices and compliance procedures for Mascaro employees in the waste management field, and is a part of an “extensive orientation and new hire safety program for drivers, mechanics, and helpers new to the industry,” the association reported.

Mascaro reportedly employs more than 700 people.
