COLLEGEVILLE PA – When investment counselors talk about moving markets, they probably aren’t referring to what happened in Collegeville PA last week.

The Collegeville Shopping Center branch office of financial brokerage Edward Jones, 222. E Main St. at Second Avenue, temporarily closed late last week because of flooding due to particularly heavy rains, according to financial adviser Mary M. Spinner. She let clients know of the damage in an Oct. 7 (2010) letter.

Repairs are being made to the office, Spinner wrote, and it is expected to reopen soon. Until then, however, office administrator Lucy Hendricks is working from another Edward Jones office located at 804 Village At Eland, Phoenixville PA. Phone calls to the Collegeville office number are being forwarded to Hendricks in Phoenixville.

And Spinner? She’s temporarily substituting for financial adviser James Defoe, who recently retired from the Collegeville office. While repairs are under way, Spinner is answering client needs by phone from the Edward Jones corporate office in Maryland Heights MO. “We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition,” her letter said.
